Romaa Agarwal, a visionary designer born in Nainital, India, who is dedicated to revolutionizing the world of fashion. With a passion for blending the old with the new, Romaa combines heritage embroideries with modern Indian silhouettes to create truly unique and breathtaking pieces.
A DRIVEN INDIVIDUAL
Growing up in a family of four siblings, Romaa was always the most inquisitive and creative, with a passion for art and craft that set her apart. Despite her family's encouragement to pursue a traditional education, Romaa's love for art and nature only grew stronger. She went on to study MA in Psychology, but her true calling remained in the world of art and fashion.
TRAILBLAZER
After her marriage in Lucknow, Romaa discovered the city's rich legacy of architecture and craftsmanship, which reignited her passion for design. She began working on small projects, creating outfits for friends and family, and soon explored Indian textiles and embroideries.
HERITAGE PRESERVER
Driven by a desire to preserve and promote India's rich cultural heritage, Romaa is committed to restoring the legacy of Indian karigari (artisanal craftsmanship). Through her work, she aims to not only showcase the beauty of traditional Indian techniques but also to empower the artisans who have mastered them.
THE CRAFT
Through years of hard work and dedication, Romaa mastered intricate chikankari, zardozi, parsi and farisha, seamlessly blending Indian heritage with modern silhouettes.
JOURNEY
Her pursuit of excellence led her to certify herself from NIFD and later, the London School of Trends.
